Driving to NYC - suggest me cool things to see/eat/do on the way there/back.

I'm taking a weekend road trip this weekend to just outside NYC to pick up a new bike (pics once I get back). I figure while I'm that close, I should stop at NYC and see the WTC memorial, then head back. I'll only have a day in New York, so I just want to hit the best stuff then get outta town.

I'm really looking for stuff to do/see on the drive there and back, to make the trip more palatable. Here is a link to my proposed path.

im not 100 percent certain, but i would think a bit more southernly path through west virginia would be higher yield than ohio. i know nothing of pennsylvania. in fact i dont even think i know how to spell it....

It is a fairly boring drive. . .a few nice sites in Pennsylvania. Driving through Pennsylvania takes forever!

Come on Al, you know the #1 thing to be looking for on a drive out there, always, always look for waterfalls!!!

I don't think we'll have much time to get that far off the beaten path on this trip, but that is DEFINITELY a good reference. Maybe we can make a spring or fall trip out of that website, if we can time it with the weather.
