Image taken near Bell Mountain summit. I played with a "hand coloring" technique. I like this kind of thing a lot, but I won't blame you if it doesn't get you excited.

okay, i think you did a great job finding a nice composition here where others might have walked right past. the coloring is cool. im not a fan of the softness but i get it.

Thanks a lot you guys. This is one of my favorite images to make, the "intimate landscape". I think these are a lot more challenging then a lot of the "shock and awe" kind of images, but probably not as appreciated. Maybe this is because of being in Missouri were those grand landscapes are not readily available.
I have lost my notes that describe exactly what I did here. I pulled most of it off the web and changed a couple steps. I do remember it was quite similar to the "Orton effect" steps in PS. If I work through it again, I'll let you know.

Here is a good step by step for producing this effect. I believe this is what I started with. Make changes as you see necessary.
