Default Okay I'm a Geek!

I know its still not "real" photography, but I've been trying for days to get water drop collisions down. Finally had some success tonight.

I'm easily entertained!!!!!!

Why thank you. It nowhere near the quality of art you are producing, but I can't compete with that, so I'll just take pictures of dripping water instead!

BTW, I finally got a chance to look at your website, AMAZING photos!

Thanks again! Funny thing, I've learned more about my camera, and specifically my flash, from doing this little exercise that at any other time I've owned a camera.

I had no idea what all the buttons on my 580EX did until today and I've owned it for years. I always just let the camera figure out how to use the flash. These were shot with the flash turned all the way down to 1/64 power. The low power = really fast flash, which finally allowed me to get rid of the motion blur that had plagued me.

Amazing what you can learn shooting stupid things!

New one from tonight. I kinda liked this one. Splash breaking over a second drop.

i do not know why you are down playing these images as not being "real" photography. Its still photography, just a different subject matter.

I think you've done a good job here, too.

Thanks guys!

Still too cold and rainy here for landscapes, so I'm still playing with water. Got my first collision in a bubble today

I loved the umbrella on this one.

And I really like the mirror image and sense of potential energy in this shot.

Just wondered. I've never seen an f/1.4 70-200 lens. My 70-200L is an f/2.8.
